In the case of glass bricks, the complete workflow requires several steps to be achieved. Glass bricks are produced firstly in two halves in OCMI-OTG pressing machine, usually consisting in 10 or 12 stations, working with hydraulic or pneumatic pressing mechanism. The take-out of press machine unloads the semi-finished bricks on a conveyor going to the next working phase: the hot welding. Welding process is made through pre-heating and melting of edges of each half-brick and consequent coupling of the two parts. OCMI-OTG can upgrade the traditional glass blocks forming line in order to double its capacity through two presses feeding the welding machine. Such a solution makes the new “high capacity” glass blocks line much more profitable in terms of both investment and operation costs. This double configuration can achieve a daily production of 25.000 finished glass bricks. After final cooling the finished items are unloaded and transferred to the last annealing process through anthropomorphic robots purposely programmed by OCMI-OTG specialists. On customer’s request a painting machine for colouring of glass bricks sides can be supplied.
